Spotlight Interests Favorite Music, Artists, Genres: I am a huge fan of music and I will give any artist or band a chance. Because of this I have a wide variety of favorites. I grew up listening to my father's band covering songs of the 70's and 80's and have stayed connected with some of the great bands of those decades. Because of this musical influence in my childhood, I missed out on the New Kids on the Block boyband phase, I blame my lack of them on my pre-teen obsession with 'N Sync. I figure most girls have to go through at least one wildly outrageous musical idol in their life and they were mine. I, however, haven't really grown out of my phase and I don't think I ever will. I am still in adoration of Justin Timberlake and all the other members as well, and I am not ashamed to admit it. They were a big part of my teenage years and I will always cherish that. However, since then I have grown to accept that there are other artists out there and I have found others that I respect just as much maybe even more so. A few of these include, Mae, Rascal Flatts, The Rasmus, Timbaland, Pink, Aerosmith, Level 42, and Rachel Lampa just to name a few from different genere's. Favorite Books, Writers, Genres: I never really enjoyed reading in school. I'm sure my teachers and professors chose excellent books that I may have really liked, but I couldn't get past the fact that it was something I "HAD" to do. I am a very independent person and I do not like to be told how I should spend my time. Beacuse of this, I didn't start to enjoy reading until my late teens. Once this started I couldn't stop. I will sometimes read a book in one day (usually when I have the whole day to relax on a beach or in a park). I really enjoy science fiction and fantasy books and I have read all three of the Lord of the Rings and The Chronicals of Narnia. I also enjoy a good romantic novel, Nicholas Sparks being one of my favorites. And recently I have started reading thrill novels.
